Meet Alena
Before creating my line of hair accessories back in 2008, I could be found with paintbrushes and pens sticking out of my bun. My long heavy hair just didn't play nice with the clips and pins out on the market - my hair would slip out, or they would break, or they simply did not look how I wanted. So I really had no choice but to make my own. The durability and subtle elegance of brass and copper appealed to me right away and until this day I continue to explore the possibilities of base metals. Today in my line of hair accessories you can find timeless and minimalist designs, that are loved and treasured by women from around the world.

Ethical Fashion

In my process I uses low-waste materials and employ non-toxic techniques, representing the influential movement away form disposable design. I choose to only use non-plated base metals and alloys that can be recycled over and over again thus eliminating heavy waste and pollution. Most of the package materials I use are recycled or recycleable, and the cotton baggies that your hair jewelry come in are sewn by a local seamstress. I believe in ethical fashion and I think that feeling good and looking beautiful should not be achieved by constantly robbing the earth of gems and minerals.
